Architecture in Dalmatia is open.
Large windows.
Wide terraces.
Clear views towards the sea and landscape.
This is part of the design language.
And part of the lifestyle.
But openness always has a second side.
Visibility.
Neighbors.
People walking by.
Boats offshore.
Viewpoints from hillside properties.
Many owners realize later
that privacy does not come automatically.
What happens in daily life.
During the day everything feels natural.
Light fills the room.
The view is impressive.
But once it gets dark,
the situation changes.
Inside becomes bright.
Outside becomes dark.
Suddenly the house is visible.
From more angles than expected.
Why interior solutions only solve half the issue.
Curtains create privacy.
But they remove openness.
Blinds darken rooms.
But disconnect the house from outside.
In Dalmatia people do not want isolation.
They want connection.
The better solution is controlled transparency.
Modern exterior sun protection can reduce visibility
without removing light and openness.
From inside the view remains.
From outside privacy increases.
The house stays elegant.
But not exposed.
Why this matters especially in Dalmatia.
Many properties are rentals.
Many are exposed locations.
Many have large glass surfaces.
Privacy becomes a visible quality factor.
And quality is noticed.
My conclusion.
Sun protection in Dalmatia is not only about climate.
It is also about discretion.
If you design openness,
you must also design protection.
True comfort begins
where you feel unseen.
