Dalmatia is not only coastline.
It is also city.
Zadar is a good example.
Narrow streets.
Close neighbors.
Different wind behavior.
Yet sun protection is often planned the same way.
Regardless of context.
In practice
this rarely works.
In cities sunlight behaves differently.
Buildings reflect light.
Heat accumulates.
Air moves less.
Sun does not always arrive directly.
It comes from angles.
From opposite buildings.
This causes glare
and restless interiors.
Privacy also plays a role.
Windows facing windows.
Balconies nearby.
Short distances.
Along the coast things change.
More space.
More wind.
More openness.
Here privacy matters less.
Control of sun and wind matters more.
Systems must be stronger.
And react flexibly.
Why one solution rarely fits both.
A city oriented system
may be too light for coastal exposure.
A coastal solution
may feel too dominant in urban settings.
Dalmatia has layers.
And those layers require distinction.
The right solution comes from context.
Not from catalogs.
Not from habit.
But from observation.
How the building sits.
What surrounds it.
How the space is used.
My conclusion on city and coast.
Sun protection is always contextual.
If you invest in Dalmatia
do not only look at climate.
Look at place.
Then solutions integrate naturally.
And work in daily life.
